See your tasks on a calendar

此内容尚不支持你的语言。

The Calendar view lays out every task that has a due date, from every list and every board, on a month or a week grid. It is the place to see what the coming days look like and to move tasks around without opening each one.

  • Click the calendar icon in the top bar (“Calendar view”). On the calendar, the same button reads “Back to the board” and takes you back. While the calendar is open, the horizontal / vertical layout toggle of the board is hidden.
  • Or click “Calendar” in the sidebar, under “Due today” and “Assigned to me”.

The calendar is at /app/calendar if you like to bookmark it.

Use the “Month” / “Week” switch in the toolbar. Your choice is remembered on this device.

  • Month shows up to three tasks per day; “+N more” opens that day in the week view.
  • Week shows seven columns with every task of each day.

The week starts on the day you chose in the settings (“Start week on” in the settings menu of the top bar). Today is highlighted.

Move through time with the arrows or the “Today” button, or press ← and → on your keyboard.

Two panels sit on the right of the grid, “Overdue” above “Unscheduled”, each with its count:

  • Overdue gathers the open tasks whose due date has passed, oldest first, in both the month and the week view. An overdue task is shown there only, not on its past day. Drag a card out of the panel onto today or a later day to reschedule it; nothing can be dropped into the panel.
  • Unscheduled lists the open tasks that have no due date. Drag one onto a day to schedule it, or drag a card from the calendar into the panel to remove its date.

Close a panel with its ✕; the toolbar then shows an “Overdue N” or “Unscheduled N” button that reopens it. On screens narrower than about 1024px the panels sit under the grid instead of beside it.

Past days are read-only: you cannot drop a task on them, and instead of the + button they show a lock (“Past days are read-only: tasks can only be added or moved to today or later”). Tasks can only be added to, or moved to, today or a later day.

In the week view and in the side panels, each task is a card with:

  • a colored dot for the list it belongs to (the list color you set on the board; hover it for the list name),
  • its title, struck through when the task is completed,
  • its labels and the avatars of the people it is assigned to,
  • a time, when the task has a due time. Timed tasks come first in their day.

In the month view the cards are a single line: title and time, with the first assignee’s avatar.

Switch on “Hide completed” to keep only the open tasks.

If you have several boards, the “All boards” selector narrows the calendar to one board.

Drag a card onto another day (today or later) to change its due date. The task is updated in Google Tasks exactly as if you had picked the date in the task editor.

  • Hover a day (today or later) and click +, then pick the list the task goes to under “Add to list”. A new task due that day opens at the top of that list.
  • Click a card to open the usual task editor: title, details, date, labels, assignees and attachments. Press Esc or click outside to save and close.

Under 768px wide, the week view becomes a list of the seven days, and the month view shows how many tasks each day has; tap a day to open it in the week view. The phone layout has no calendar button; open tasksboard.com/app/calendar directly.
